hm anyhow just for emphasis it's only right to me that parsifal for all his renaissance faire frock and poofy pants is still in fact a literal, honest-to-god walking nuclear weapon. between the lab attuning of his body to blistering hot temperatures + the explosiveness of his combat (or in baby terms the infinite laser beams and mushroom clouds) and of course the war/governmental r&d background it's all but inevitable that they'd create a nuclear fission knight for their purposes. just like the blues boss fight, phantasio can just do this v

re last post but the way junko emphasized the willful but uplifting denial of the fantasy of escapism. daisuke's initial wish to "become someone else" because he's a loser(tm) is granted through dark AND YET while simultaneously grappling with all of his dread and terror over the reality of his transformations and immediately refusing them he's still also simultaneously forced to face his faults, thereby gradually transforming him spiritually into a better and improved version of the person that he always was at his center each time he overcomes them. i actually think this is reflected much more blatantly with characters like riku and risa who don't have any of the magical girl stuff going on with them the way the artworks and dai and hiwatari do. risa gradually becomes less selfish and reconciles with riku after realizing her goal of having a hot bf to one-up riku is petty and pointless compared to just being there for riku, riku goes through her own emotional developments to mirror daisuke's and becomes less stubborn and volatile around pretty much everybody.

it's not about the sorts of daydreams that daisuke tends to wade around in, wishing or wondering how his life would be like if he were born into a different family or as a different person with different skills. but the fact those ideas exist isn't ever outright mocked or belittled either, just treated as something that can be proceeded towards as a form of positive encouragement. daisuke always recognizes that if his life really were completely different from how it's been that he wouldn't be a niwa, wouldn't be 'himself' anymore, compared to dark who he continuously subconsciously recognizes as himself. there's no instantaneous, complete upheaval of who he is even if he has the anime power to do crazy stuff like jump into the arts and to completely change his surroundings, or as his dna forces his body to transform into something that looks completely different. that's the fun part for most people, but the message really is and has always been anyone can always take the first steps to change themselves even when it gets scary or takes hard work, no matter where or who you've started off as.
